"5K Pumpkin Run" 2008

When: Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Where: Race begins at the Town Common in front of the American Legion

Time: Race will start at 11:00 am

Ages: Ages 10 yrs and up may enter the race

The 5K Pumpkin Run had a great start last year in it's first year! This year the 2nd annual 5K Pumpkin Run will be held in conjunction with Dover Days Fair. The 5K Pumpkin Run is designed to be a fun, family event that can showcase the running talents in and out of town of ALL ages! The race was started in 2007 by Assistant Parks & Recreation Director, Jessica Cooney, along with the help of former "Dover Police Chase" organizer, Officer Ed Meau. We hope that our 5K Race will be just as fun and successful as the Police Chase always was! Officer Ed Meau has been great in helping us organize our race by providing us his year's worth of knowledge and advice.

Volunteers serve as the backbone to events such as this one, and events like this would not be possible without them. If you are interested in helping out, even for a few hours, please contact Jessica at 508-785-0476 or info@doverrec.com. (volunteers will receive free t-shirts & water).

To Register: Simply mail in or drop off a registration form, and the $15.00 entrance fee by September 5th, 2008. You may mail forms to P.O. Box 250, Dover, MA 02030.

* There will be a $10.00 late fee added after September 5th! *

* Runners should arrive the day of the race between 9:30 - 10:30 am to check-in, receive your number, & warm up. *

Trophies: The top 2 runners in the following age brackets will receive a trophy:

10-14 yrs, 15-20 yrs, 21-30 yrs, 31-40 yrs, 41-50 yrs, 51-60 yrs, 60+ yrs

Dover Police "Fun Run" 2008

The Dover Police Department will be organizing their annual "Fun Run" for ages 3 - 9 yrs in conjunction with Dover Days Fair on September 20th, 2008. The Fun Run will begin at 10:30 am in front of the American Legion. Registration will take place the day of the race in the Town Hall. There is a $5.00 registration fee. Participants will race about a 1/2 mile around the Town Common.
