Middle School Ski Program
The
Town of Dover is offering a recreational ski/snowboard program to
children attending the Dover/Sherborn Middle School in grades 6th,
7th and 8th grades. The program will be located at Nashoba Valley
Ski Area in Westford, MA. The program will be offered Fridays, on
January 9, 16, 23, 30 and February 6, & 13 2008. This program
offers families an inexpensive way to introduce their children to
skiing or snowboarding, or to improve their skills. The program
for either skiing or snowboarding includes an evening lift ticket
that will be valid from 4:00pm - 7:30pm on the above dated Friday's.
Nashoba is a 50 minute drive from Dover and has excellent instructors
and snow-making equipment. Rental equipment is available but must
be fitted and payed for directly through Nashoba Valley. For identification
& safety reasons we would like all participants to wear the
town recreation department identifier. This will be issued to you
and if not returned at the end of the season, there will be a replacement
cost associated.

Fridays - January: 9, 16, 23, 30 & February: 6, 13
* If bad weather
occurs and the program can not run one day during these consecutive
6weeks, then a week will be added at the end (except Feb. vacation
week)

& Equipment Fitting night will be held Wednesday, November 19th,
2008 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at the Caryl School.

There is a min. of 37 kids & max. number of 50 students for
the program. If we have more than 50 kids sign up we will
create a wait list to determine if we have enough interest for a
2nd bus to be added. **

Pricing:
$325.00 for 6 ski or snowboard lift tickets (good
until 7:30pm), the bus fee, and a ski identifier.
$365.00 for 6 ski or snowboard lessons & lift
tickets, & the bus fee. (lessons from 4:00 - 5:00 pm)
$85.00 for Equipment Rental package (checks
made payable to "Nashoba Valley")
Transportation:
"Local Motion" Bus Company will be providing transportation
for all children registered in the program on one of their coach
buses. The bus will leave the middle school at approx. 2:45pm and
return to the middle school at approx. 8:45 pm.
Rentals:
There will be a registration and equipment
fitting night held on Wednesday, November 19th from 6:00 - 7:00
pm. Those who wish to rent equipment for the program should attend
the registration night!
Snowboard and Ski equipment can be rented from Nashoba Valley directly.
Please contact them for pricing and detailed information.
Separate checks are required for rental, payable to "Nashoba
Valley Ski Area."
**OVO helmets are in stock and will be available for purchase.**
Chaperones:
We need at least 2 chaperones each
day of the program! Please check the dates you are
available on the
registration form. If you would like to ski there are a limited
number of free ski pins that we will give out to
volunteer chaperones each week. Please indicate if you would like
to be considered for a pin. You will be notified which day you will
chaperone and your responsibilities.
Registration:
Please complete one registration form with release signed on back
for each child, make copies if you have more than one child. Checks
are payable to "Town of Dover".
